Prevention through education and training.

Venous thromboembolism is a disease characterized by the formation of a blood clot obstructing blood flow in a vein. Generally, this leads to symptoms such as pain, swelling, redness and a sensation of heat in the affected leg.

VTE can be very painful and is potentially fatal. What sometimes starts as minor discomfort in the leg can turn into acute pain.
